On Wed. Nov 28th the Southampton Town Conservation Board held a meeting
to review the application of the owner of 82 Turtle Cove Drive for the
construction of a new house and other site improvements. The meeting was
open for public comments and a number of Southampton Shores residents
were present and some addressed the Board with their concerns and
comments. In a previous email we cited several statistics regarding the
application which were based on a preliminary survey . The final plan
modifies the information previously provided . The new house is now
3,618 sq.ft. rather than the almost 5000 sq.ft. reported earlier. The
pool, decking and garage remain as before. The location of the
improvements has been modified to afford a larger buffer between the
house and closest adjoining property . The plans meet all of the Town
conservation requirements as to set back, buffer areas ,lot
coverage, etc. The owner, who was present and also addressed the Board
indicated her intention to keep the natural plantings in place and to
also add additional plantings to help maintain the current “ natural “
look. The owner also stated that the house is for her own personal use .
The Conservation Board has indicated that it will entertain any
additional input from neighbors or others about this application for a
period of 10 days from Nov 28th . If you wish to comment on this
application please mail your letter to:
